MCHS will warm food that is wrapped in aluminum foil by placing it in the oven. (Be sure to write your child’s name on the foil.) Wrapping food in foil or warming it yourself and placing it in a small, wide-mouthed thermos is a wonderful way to ensure your child will get a hot lunch at school.
Try: •Baked chicken •Tortillas with cheese/chicken/beef/ beans •Grilled cheese sandwich •Hot dog •Pasta •Rice with lentils •Cooked vegetables such as corn on the cob or green beans •Macaroni and cheese •Leftovers such as pizza or casserole
Try making the lunch the night before and refrigerating it to make your morning easier. Let your child be a part of the process. You are more likely to send something that your child will like if she or he helps decide what to send. What’s on the Menu?
